Mr. Al-Ishsal Ishak was most recently the CEO for Caterham Bikes, United Kingdom. Prior to joining Caterham, Mr. Ishak was tasked to drive growth and innovation within the most pivotal pillar for new age airlines as Group Head of Brand & Ancillary Income. He landed into AirAsia from Malaysia Airlines, where he had served as Senior Vice President of Marketing.
Almost two decades of serial entrepreneurship in the technology and communications sector defined Mr. Ishak’s kaleidoscope of experiences. These include start-ups in North America through to China in digital branding and eCRM. His contribution in building multiple ecommerce presence for leading brands was recognised in TIME Magazine’s cover story back during the dotcom heydays of 1997, and CNBC Asia’s Managing Asia at the turn of the century. His last startup in that space, LifeLogger, was highlighted by Business Week as the “Top 8 recommended blogging tools of 2006” and was later sold to a unit of CBS Corporation, Los Angeles.
Mr. Ishak then spent some time at McCann Worldgroup as its Chief Digital Officer in Malaysia. He co-founded Asia’s first virtual network enabler in 2010. As with most good things in life, it was short-lived (and sold), when the dream opportunity to work with Asia’s most accoladed entrepreneurs and highest flying startup came calling.
Mr. Ishak holds a Bachelor of Management (Honours) degree from the University of Science, Malaysia (Second Class – Upper Division).
