Bhavesh Dattani

Bhavesh Dattani is a UK qualified lawyer with two decades of multi-jurisdictional experience in developed and emerging markets having worked in Tier 1 sell-side investment banks and broker dealers including J.P. Morgan, Lehman Brothers and Nomura. Mr. Dattani is a commercially astute General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer with a proven track record of partnership with C-Suite and wider business stakeholders.

Mr. Dattani began his legal career in 1997 at Denton Wilde Sapte qualifying into the Banking Department as a regulatory lawyer. In 1999, Mr. Dattani joined J.P. Morgan’s Equities trading floor legal team specializing in the legal structuring and execution of equity derivatives transactions. Mr. Dattani was headhunted in 2003 by Lehman Brothers to establish an EMEA Equity Derivatives Legal team which by 2008 included lawyers based in London and Zurich focusing on wholesale and retail cross asset class derivatives and securities products.

From 2008 to 2015, Mr. Dattani joined Nomura in the Middle East based in Dubai holding various regional roles including Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. In 2016, Mr. Dattani rejoined J.P. Morgan in the Compliance department in London as Compliance counsel and advisor covering the Prime Brokerage and the Custody and Fund Services businesses.

Mr. Dattani holds a BSc in Business Management Studies from the University of Bradford Management Centre and completed his post graduate legal studies at the College of Law, Guildford Branch.

Mr. Dattani has a committed focus and passion for diversity initiatives and was previously a non-executive director for a US registered non-profit organization ‘Educate Girls Globally’.
